A rare moment unfolded in the Bengal Assembly on Friday as five candidates, who had cleared the School Service Commission (SSC) examination but were denied jobs, arrived at the premises with their grievances. The delegation met Speaker Biman Banerjee, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, and ISF MLA Naushad Siddiqui, handing over a written demand letter seeking justice.
The candidates said they had followed the due process, cleared the exams lawfully, and yet remain unemployed while others have allegedly been favoured irregularly. They claimed neither the state government, the SSC board, nor the judiciary has provided them a resolution despite years of struggle.
The protest comes amid ongoing allegations of corruption in teacher recruitment across the state. The candidates urged all political stakeholders to ensure their inclusion in appointments, highlighting the urgency of resolving the injustice that continues to affect their livelihoods.
